About NSSLHA
What is NSSLHA?
The National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a pre-professional association for students interested in the study of communication sciences and disorders. NSSLHA is the only official organization recognized by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) for students preparing to become an Audiologist or Speech Language Pathologist.
UCF has an affiliated local chapter of NSSLHA known as “UCF NSSLHA.”

Testimonials
Being a member of UCF NSSLHA has been so rewarding! I have built so many lifelong friendships with other members and the experiences that I've gotten to volunteer for take what we learn in the classroom and give you a hands on understanding before going to graduate school!
My Favorite Events Organized by a NSSLHA Officer:
Vice President of Internal Affairs - 2019 Fall Social where I connected with so many other members!
Vice President of External Affairs - 2018 & 2019 Special Olympics because working with the athletes and their families is so rewarding and the families are so appreciative of our volunteerism!
Secretary - There is something special about being recognized for your achievements! I am so grateful to have been invited to the Awards Ceremony each semester since I joined NSSLHA because I earned a certificate, and was in the Top 3 in one of those semesters! Each Secretary has created a great ceremony to acknowledge members with a personalized certificate and the slideshow was a great way to reflect on the great opportunities the Officers provided throughout the year!
Graduate Liaison - 2019 Research Info Session & the 2019 ASHA Convention (if you have the opportunity to go to ASHA, I highly recommend it! I came home with so many great buys, freebies, and memories with my friends! I am so excited to begin my own research project in Fall 2020!
Audiology Representative - 2018 & 2019 Hearing Screenings in multiple Orange County Public Schools - you do not have to be interested in audiology to participate, and you do so many in a few hours, it is truly a fantastic hands-on learning experience that you just won't get in an undergraduate course!
